Do I have to set my map marker exactly where I live?
No. For your own security we don’t recommend to do that. You can change the position of your marker in “manage account” subsequently. „Manage account“ is on the top right of the MyGlobalLounge home page if you’re logged in.
Which photos are shown on the home page?
The photos you see are a random selection of the loungers who are located on the particular map section you take a look at.
The preview pics of some webcams don’t work. Why?
Most likely because you’re using the Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser. The preview pics of many webcams are in mjpg-format and IE can’t show mjpg-pics. An appropriate plugin might fix this problem. We recommend the use of Firefox or Seamonkey. With these browsers the webcam previews work fine. Another possibility could be that the webcam is temporarily down.
Do you check the private webcams?
Yes, we take a look at the private webcams every once in a while to prevent abuse.
What's the meaning of the combination of numbers and letters at the registration?
This is spam protection. It avoids automated entries.
Why can't I change my nickname?
During the registration process your nickname has to be unique, because it's the basic data of your account.
How can I add friends to my lounge?
You have to be logged in. Now you can see the other lounges. There's a button „add lounger“ on the right side of the photo. If you click it, this person receives a mail that you want to add her/him. Now this person can decide, if she/he accepts you as a friend or not. After that you'll receive a mail with this decision. If you're accepted the photo of this person will appear in your lounge and vice versa.
What nickname and password do I need to get full access to the Forum?
You can login with your MyGlobalLounge nickname und password.
Can I write private messages into my own Shoutbox?
You can leave a private message by writing in the Shoutbox of other loungers and others can leave a private message for you in your Shoutbox. If you tick the box behind "private message?" your message is only visible to the the lounger in which Shoutbox you’re writing. It's not possible to write a private message for a certain lounger in your own Shoutbox.
What are cookies?
Cookies are short pieces of data that are stored on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies allow us to recognize you automatically whenever you visit our site. We also use cookies for fraud prevention. If your web browser refuses cookies, you will not be able to register or login. Cookies make the use of our website more convenient and user-friendly.
After uploading a new image my old one still appears. Why?
If that happens, you have to refresh the website. You can do this by clicking the refresh-button in your browser or pressing the F5 key on your keyboard.
